		<description>There are good reasons for and against. I'm a fan of NOT reinventing the wheel if it's not necessary... but sometimes the available options ARE truly awful.

I guess the paradox is that it takes an experienced programmer to know when it's ok and when it's not... and the people who are responsible for choosing an open source solution are usually not experienced programmers.</description>

		<description>I don't really want to get involved in the debate, but for me it really depends on what the application is and if there is a suitable open source solution available. Theres no point in recoding something if someone else has already done it for you. That said though, there are still many situations where it is more efficient to code something yourself from scratch using frameworks as you mentioned. 

I will keep using both for now :)</description>
