Last few weeks have been a little busy here, returning from conferences, dealing with the project backlog, and preparing for my Edge of the Web talk.
Moving on now with my fifth and final interview in the 5×5 series with speakers from the Edge of the Web conference (that’s just over a week away) , this time I’m talking with James McCutcheon. James is presenting on Why the web doesn’t have an edge anymore, he is a self confessed leader in Microsoft development community with a passion for windows mobile and a serial entrepreneur .
- MWNB:

Previously I have talked at length about burnout and knowing when you are working too much and how to step aside. Friend Derek Featherstone has also written about burnout and finding some white space in our lives.
Kelly Goto at Web Directions South 2009, last week, also spoke on finding more time between moments (YoYu). Ben Buchanan explains YoYu really well too. Everything these good people and I have said is true.

This year I was honoured to be given the opportunity to speak at OZ-IA 2009. I will also be speaking at the Edge of the Web 2009 in November for the first time, right after the keynote, talk about pressure!
The following is my initial transcript of my presentation at OZ-IA 2009, The Art of Skywriting – The Demise of the Tag Cloud.
Now it’s not going to be word for word the same as the audio recording, but you’ll get the idea. As usual it’s also available on Slideshare along with all my other presentations, distributed under creative commons license. Soon as I have the audio I will sync it with the slides to make it easier to understand – promise.

Now that two big conferences are out of the way, it’s back to the 5 x 5 interview series of presenters speaking at the Edge of the Web conference. This time in my fourth interview I’m talking with Simon Pascal Klein, Pascal is presenting on Beautiful Web Typography at the Edge of the Web conference in Perth, Western Australia next month – eeep! is it that close, less that 4 weeks away!
He is a self confessed standardista front end and graphic designer, who is equally at home in the world of print. He is currently based in Canberra.
