There seems to be a trend of late to take the minimialisation of interactive design to the extreme. Now I’m all or minimialisation and making user interfaces simipler.

You know making an interface streamlined to just the solid functionality of the interaction and no more.

I have been noticing a very frightening tread. In an effort to make things more usable, we are designing interfaces without the very functions used to support usability in the first place.

Ash Donaldson is one of those old school User Experience Designers that are the main stay of our industry. He’s the type of person that just extrudes knowledge and a passion for his craft . It’s well worth having a chat over a beer or two with Ash, you’ll come away with your head spinning, and not from the beer.

The other day I went to get my business cards reprinted, you know it’s a thing you do from time to time, and with that process you naturally review the information on them.

Now I have two sets of business cards.  One set I hand out to the general business owners, potential clients and so on.  The other set I distribute to agencies, the web industry and IT people.
