WordPress – 404 after Saving a Post

Well like most people I upgraded WordPress 2.7 in December 2008. Everything appeared to be going well, no major issues. Mind you I have been quiet on this blog over the last month or so.

Anyway went to save a post with an externally sourced image in it the other day, and the post failed to update, returning me instead to the standard 404 error page. Which is strange as it had saved okay minutes before. The only difference being the newly inserted image code.

Finally WordPress 2.7 is released, but don’t you just hate all the endless upgrades, especially if you have code base modifications in place.

Whether or not you like WordPress as a blogging platform is debatable, but you have to agree that it does have a large slice of the market share.  And when you get to be a tall poppy like WordPress, just in shear numbers you will get (that is find) your security problems as people poke holes in your product.

Time for a Change

When I started this blog 18 months back, the design and template was temporary at best. But as you do, I tweaked and tweaked. Added a theme randomiser, moved things around. Suddenly it’s 18 months on and the temporary design is looking like it’s in for the long haul. However overall the design just niggled at me. Sure the colours worked, but the layout frankly was just not me, it just didn’t resonate at all.

So last Sunday I quietly rolled out Manwithnoblog 2.0.
